Federal prosecutors in Brooklyn have indicted a 3rd man in reference to the 2002 capturing dying of Run-D.M.C.’s Jam Grasp Jay, the New York Times studies. Jay Bryant, a 49-year-old resident of Queens, New York, was charged with homicide whereas engaged in drug trafficking in addition to different trafficking-related fees. Bryant was already in custody awaiting trial on a separate drug-related indictment.
Jam Grasp Jay (born Jason William Mizell) based Run-D.M.C. in 1983 with Joseph “Rev Run” Simmons and Darryl “D.M.C.” McDaniels. He was shot to dying at 37 on October 30, 2002 in a recording studio in Jamaica, Queens. Prosecutors allege Bryant was seen coming into the studio constructing simply earlier than the capturing, and that clothes along with his DNA was discovered on the scene.
Two males, Karl Jordan Jr. and Ronald Washington, had been arrested in 2020 in connection to the capturing and indicted on related fees of homicide whereas engaged in drug trafficking. Jordan and Washington pleaded not responsible; their trial in scheduled to start in January 2024. Washington had been named as a suspect as early as 2007.
