Director Christopher Landon says he’s exiting Scream 7 after the “dream job… become a nightmare.”
In a social media submit on Saturday, Landon wrote, “I suppose now could be pretty much as good a time as any to announce I formally exited Scream 7 weeks in the past. It will disappoint some and delight others. It was a dream job that become a nightmare. And my coronary heart did break for everybody concerned. Everybody. However it’s time to maneuver on. I’ve nothing extra so as to add to the dialog apart from I hope Wes’ legacy thrives and lifts above the din of a divided world. What he and Kevin created is one thing superb and I used to be honored to have even the briefest second basking of their glow.”
Landon’s departure follows the firing of Scream actress Melissa Barrera over her vocal assist of Palestine, in addition to co-star Jenna Ortega’s decision to not return.
Landon, who’s earlier helmed Joyful Dying Day, had taken over Scream franchise from Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillet, who directed the earlier two installments.
